The beginning of the creative life of "Berega" is dated by 25 of February of 1997. That very day the musicians, united by the idea said - "Berega" is created!

The first appearance took place in June of 1997, in acoustical variant at first Segezha festival - "Rybka", a little later they appeared on Karelian radio. Having tried themselves in new genre they perform the theatrical concert in April of 1998, then performance at rock-festival "Rybka-2". Performance at rock-festival in Kostomuksha in December.
The membership of the group was changed in the middle of 1998 and sound got harder electrical phonation, meanwhile the style is the same - romantic folk-rock.
